Real-Time PCR – considered easy and straightforward if it comes to its hands-on part, has many drawbacks especially in experimental design and data analysis.
We focus in our course on all aspects of the Real-Time PCR workflow - planning your experiments, assay design and optimization, how to carry out basic as well as advanced data analysis and interpretation of results. Practical examples and demonstrations using software of Real-Time PCR instrument manufacturers as well as qbase+ (Biogazelle) will be used to demonstrate data analysis wokflow in gene expression studies including miRNA.


Who should attend?

The course is intended for everyone who plans to use Real-Time PCR or wishes to deepen their mastering of this technique. No preceding knowledge of Real-Time PCR is required.

  • Participants must have their own laptops for qbase+ installation and for installation of a software you use or plan to use to handle your real-time pcr instrument. Basic steps of data analysis will be demonstrated using software of instrument manufacturers (Applied Biosystems, BioRad, Qiagen etc.), advanced relative quantification data analysis will be perfomed using qbase+.
  • How to reach the Workshop venue - the city of Brno (in the eastern part of the Czech Republic) can be easily accessed by car/bus/train from various directions. Please let us know should you need help with your travel arrangements.
